Description:

A Milk Gathering Plant Manager, also known as a Processing Plant Superintendent, manages a milk-gathering-station, factory or plant.

A Milk Laboratory Technician takes samples of milk and/or cream; determines weight or volume of milk and/or cream; makes bacterial counts of milk and/ or cream.

A Milk Receiver samples milk and determines the weight or volume of a producer's milk.

A Milk Tester tests milk and/or cream to determine milk fat content.

A Certified Milk Inspector is a private industry worker who is licensed to conduct dairy farm inspections.

Certificate Requirements:

An applicant must file an application for certification with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets in order to become certified as a Milk Gathering Plant Manager, Milk Laboratory Technician, Milk Receiver, Milk Tester, or Certified Milk Inspector.
