Description:

A Life Settlement Provider is authorized to enter into a contract with an owner of a life insurance policy, providing compensation to the owner in return for the assignment, transfer, sale release or bequest of any portion of the death benefit, ownership of the policy or beneficial interest in the policy. 

Licensing Requirements:

Persons seeking to be licensed in New York State as a Life Settlement Provider must apply to the NYS Department of Financial Services.
