Licensed Behavior Analysts

Description:

A New York State licensed behavior analyst (LBA) is a licensed health care professional who treats individuals with autism, autism spectrum disorders and related disorders. In providing services to such individuals, LBAs apply principles of ABA to design, implement, and evaluate environmental modification to produce socially significant improvement in behavior.

Licensure Requirements:

Any use of the title "licensed behavior analyst" within New York State requires licensure.

The specific requirements for licensure/certification are contained in section 8804 of New York's Education Law and Subpart 79-17 of the Commissioner's Regulations.

Fees:

The fee for licensure and first registration as a licensed behavior analyst is $300.
The fee for a limited permit for a licensed behavior analyst is $70.
